The All-India Muslim League(popularised as the Muslim League) was a political party established in 1906 in the British Indian Empire. Its strong advocacy for the establishmentof a separate Muslim-majority nation-state, Pakistan, successfully led to the partition of British India in 1947 by the British Empire.

The brithisers were practising the policy of divide and rule to weaken the nationalism movement. They encouraged the muslims to form a seperate organisation of their own. Muslim leauge was fomed in 1906 by aga khan, the religious head of a muslim sect and nawab salimulla of dhaka.
