French society is devided into three estates -
First estate - It comprises of the clergy . One fifth of the land was property of church .
Second estate - It comprises pf nobility . They owned one fourth of the land of france and were free from taxes.
Third estate - It comprises of peasants workers and the people belonging to middle class such as lawyers , traders . Industries etc . All the taxes were paid by third estates.
