When the three men saw the pride of Thames, they could not understand what it was. Jerome thought that it was some kind of a Roman relic. His friends had to inquire to figure out what it was. Even after they got to know that it was the pride of Thames, they were not ready to believe.

The three friends spent two pleasant days at Oxford. There are plenty of dogs and montemorency had many fight with them. some people were starting their journey from oxford, so that they can sail downstream,Jerome enjoys the thrill of sailing against the current,especially when others are rowing. He recommende using ones own boat since hired boats are not stylish. Jerome recalls hiring a boat with one of his friend one summer,the boat was ancient causing Jerome to think it had been left behind Romans while his Friend was certain it was a fossil of a whale..when they asked to the boatman he says that this boat is the best among all. And this boat is the pride of TheThames.
