The structure of heart

The size of the heart is about one's folded fist and weighs about 225-340 grams. The heart xonsists of four chamber two upper auricles and two lower ventricles. It consists of valve like tricuspid valve, bicuspid valve, semi-lunar valve of pulmonary artery and aorta. The function of heart is to recieve blood from blood vessels and pump it to all parts right up to the toe. If there is any problem in coronart artery the heart muscles will become weak and stop working this cause heart attack.

HUMAN HEART :

》Human Heart is mesodermal in origin.

》It is located in the thoracic cavity between the lungs.

》It is protected by pericardium which is a double walled membrane enclosing pericardial fluid.

》Our heart consists of four chambers - two upper chambers called atria and two lower chambers called ventricles.

》A thick walled septum called the inter-ventricular septum separates the left and right ventricles.

》A thin septum called inter-atrial septum separates right and left atria.

》Atrioventricular septum separates the atria and the ventricle of the same side.

》Bicuspid Valve regulates the opening between the left atrium and left ventricle.

》Tricuspid Valve regulates the opening between the right atrium and right ventricle.

FUNCTION :

● The function of Heart is to pump oxygenated blood to all the parts of our body and also to pump the deoxygenated blood from lungs to heart.
