The Functional part of a statistical table are as follows :

  1. The title : Title of the table  must be well defined as each title which is given to the table should have explaining power in the title itself.
  2. The head box : The  captions  which are given to the column of the data   must have   first letter in capital and other letters in lowercase.
  3. The stub :  The headings which are given to the row of  table is called stub .
  4. The body : The part that contains the main information like numerical information with  which  the question is to be  called as  body of statistical table.
  5. Prefatory notes : Statement which is given below the title and  defines the units of measurement is known as prefatory notes.
  6. Foot notes : The foot notes mainly appears under the body which shows additional information.
