Answer:

The Southern Indian Ocean is notorious for its rough waters. As the voyager entered this formidable sea, gales began to blow and the size of waves became bigger. The captain prepared for the worst and the worst did happen on January 2, 1977. A colossal wave wreaked fatal havoc on the boat. It hit it with an explosion. Its force was so intense that it threw the author many feet away from the boat. But the lifeline kept him safe. It also capsized the boat; fortunately another wave put it erect again. Author's ribs cracked; his mouth was filled with broken teeth and blood. The decks were smashed; there was water, water in the boat. A huge hole in the starboard side let the water in in torrents. The very keel of the boat was shaken with the blow of the wave. Sue, author's daughter had received serious head injury. Their very survival was in danger.

Explanation:

During one of their voyages, the narrator and his team had to undergo a harrowing experience.

The winds were very strong and huge gale winds had gathered around. The waves were very huge and all of them got wet. They hardly had any time.

A huge wave was looming on them and suddenly came crashing down on them. The narrator fell and was losing consciousness. He was petrified as he knew that death was looming ahead.

Just as he was thinking, another monstrous wave lashed the ship and it turned upright again. He caught on to the ship and took control of the steering again.
