- In Nepal, the history of computers is not very old.
- For the purpose of conducting its census, Nepal hired several computers and calculators.
- The government imported the first computer into Nepal, the IBM 1401, for the 1972 census of the people (2028 BS).
- Later, in 1975 (2031 BS), YantrikSarinikaran Kendra (Electronic Data Processing Center), which is now known as the National Computer Center, was founded (NCC).
