Describe the Hoa Hao Movment against te French.

HOA HAO MOVEMENT :

● It begin in 1939 and gained greater popularity in the fertile delta area . It drew on religious ideas popular in anti french upspring .
● The founder of this movement was a men called Huynh Phu So . He performed miracle and helped the poor . He helped poor , opposed sale of girl child , gambling and use of alchohal.
● The French tried to supress the movement . They declared mad zone but the doctor who has to prove his became his follower and latter fench sent most of the follower to the concentration camp.
However this movement always had a contradictory relationship with mainstream nationalism .
