Its geometry is trigonal bipyramidal.
Three Cl atoms form equatorial bonds with the P atom while two Cl atoms are a bit away from the P atom and form axial bonds with it. The axial bonds suffer more intermolecular repulsion and hence are slightly longer than the equatorial bonds. This makes PCl 5 highly reactive.
