In the late 19th century, classic liberalism evolved into neo-classical humanism which focus on individual freedom.

During the nineteenth century, the ideology of liberalism revolved around the concept of individual freedom. It consisted of humanitarians fighting for individual voting rights, right of marriage, women rights, rights of practising religion as per likes. It was at that time when the importance of indivual rights was brought to light and forced into action.
