● Globalisation has posed and new challenge to Indian agriculture through India is an important producer of many crops it is not able to compete with the developed countries because agriculture is highly subsidised in other countries it is only when Indian farmers diversify from cultivation of caerals to high.

IT HAS BEEN FELT SINCE COLONIAL TIMES . RAW COTTON AND SPIECES WERE IMPORTANT EXPORT ITEMS FROM INDIA. IN 1917, INDIA FARMERS REVOLTED IN CHAMPARAN AGAINST BEING FORCED TO GROW INDIGO IN PLACE OF FOOD GRAINS , IN ORDER TO SUPPLY DYE TO BRITAN 'S FLOURSHING INDUSTRY.
