Political institutions are important and necessary in a democracy due to the following reasons:
1.These institutions make important laws and take up various policies and programmes for the development of the nation. The Prime Minister and the Cabinet are institutions that take all important policy decisions.
2. These institutions implement the policies and programmes. The bureaucrats are a part of the political institutions which try to implement the orders and decisions of the ministers.
3.These institutions also try to settle disputes.Supreme Court is an institution which solve disputes between citizens and the government. It also protects the rights of the citizens.

Answer:
1 Some persons have to take decisions on how to go about these activities.
2 Others have to implement these decisions.
3 If any disputes arise on these decisions or in their implementation, there should be someone to decide what is wrong and right.
4 It is important that everyone should know who is responsible for doing what.
5 It is important that these activities keep taking place even if the person in the key position is change.
