George was a clumsy musician. All his attempts to learn music failed and invited trouble for him. George bought a banjo for the trip, imagining that he would learn to play it from a book. His friends never wanted him to play banjo. Whenever George tried learning banjo, he was in trouble. George’s playing banjo made Montomorency to howl. Harris did not like it at all.

Earlier also when he tried to learn banjo at home, Mrs. P, his landlady objected saying it would affect the child of a lady who was in delicate state. George tried to practice learning banjo late at night at asquare but was captured by police. He was prohibited to play banjo for six months.

Finally George had to sell his banjo by giving advertisement in the newspaper.
