River Indus originates from lake mansarovar in Tibet. It enters India from the ladakh district of Jammu and Kashmir flowing Westward. it forms a picturesque gorge. it is then joined by many of the trans Himalayan tributaries in the Kashmir region the Indus flows through Baltistan and Gilgit and emerges from mountain at attock. Indus enter Pakistan at mithankot . beyond this the Indus flows southwards to reach the Arabian sea at Karachi.the Indus plain has a gentle slope. Indus is one of the longest River of the world with a length of 2900km.
