It is a viscious circle. Political parties does not want to do away with reservation. So they will promise all freebies to voters & get elected. After election, the education & health of the voters are never given attention - so that these gullible voters are forced to remain in their old way of life.

The majority among the various casts in a constituency is given the tickets by more than one party so that other castes are taken for granted.

So every party tries to strike a balance between caste based -vs nos of voters that can be got by a chosen candidate.

Usually the fight is between the 2 top castes in a constituency - whereas others usually do not have much say.

The dominant caste in a province or a state will try to demand more seats in all parties, by keeping their men in all parties. So in any election, whichever party wins, the dominant caste person is sure to get elected. This happens in a good nos of seats.
