Jallianwala bagh massacre took place on 13 april 1919 in the jallianwala bagh situated in amritsar punjab on this day there was a gathering of people in the bagh and they were celebrating the festival of baisakhi and were peacefully protesting against the britishers .

Then suddenly general dyer came with his soldiers and open fire upon the crowd in that bagh and according to official record around 300 people were killed in this incident , as the news of jallianwala bagh spread  across the villages , crowds took over the streets and there were strikes and clashes all over the india .

Seeing all the violence spreading all over Gandhiji called of the movement .
