The Russian Revolution of 1917 involved the collapse of an empire under Tsar Nicholas II and the rise of Marxian socialism under Lenin and his Bolsheviks. It sparked the beginning of a new era in Russia that had effects on countries around the world.

⭕️The situation in Russia at the beginning of 1917 was catastrophic. The food supply system had broken down and the populace in the large towns and cities was starving and freezing. The voices calling for a completely new ordering of society became ever louder. The autocratic rule of the Tsar was nearing its end.
❤️Promotion of socialism and communism :❤️
⭕️After the Russian revolution Communist International ( Comintern) was formed for promoting the ideals of revolutions on an international scale. It helped in promoting the ideology of Socialism that emerged as a reaction to capitalism, the ideology supported the interests of the working class and revealed the flaws of the capitalist system.In many countries Socialist parties were established, that promote the idea of collective ownership, welfare state.

⭕️The Russian revolution also broadened the meaning of democracy, it identified that democracy is not only about civil and political rights but social and economic equality. It also popularised the idea of state led economy and planned economy.
Rights of workers : Russia made right to work as a constitutional right and promoted the welfare of workers.

They argued that the must own the property and must work for the welfare of the entire society.An ideology of Socialism was driven by the motive of bringing about social welfare through social ownership.

US and USSR emerging as the super powers, who later got involved in the Cold War that defined much of the 20 th century world politics.. The Soviet Union emerged as the great power , representing Communist ideology in contrast to the democratic ideology represented by the US.
