J.J. Thomson made a plum putting model he stated that an atom is a sphere of positive charge and negative charged particles known as electrons are fitted in the sphere.
The draw back was that it did not show the correct model of the atom.
Hope it helps you

Answer:
Thomson's atomic model failed to explain how the positive charge holds on the electrons inside the atom. It also failed to explain an atom's stability. The following are the drawbacks of Thomson's atomic model: The model of atom failed to explain how a positive charge holds the negatively charged electrons in an atom. So, it failed to explain the stability of an atom. ... Thomson's model failed to explain the scattering of alpha particles.
