Describe the JJ Thomas model of atom also state the drawback of the model
Answers
Answer:
In his Model he took a narrow cylindrical tube and maintained the pressure less than 180 atm or vaccum. He attched 2 electrodes on both the end of the cylindrical tube and attached a 10000 Volt battery to it and switched on the current. The rays were moving from cathode to anode and hence called Cathode Rays.
Further More:
He attached to electrodes on both the end of the cylindrical tube up and down and then saw that the particles were moving to cathode and then it was came to know that atoms are electrically Negative.
DrawBacks
1. He did not talk about the Neutron.
2. He did not spoke much about the position of electron.
3. He said that the electrons are embedded throughout an atom.
Answer:
hello mate here is ur ans❤
Thomson's atomic model failed to explain how the positive charge holds on the electrons inside the atom. It also failed to explain an atom's stability. The theory did not mention anything about the nucleus of an atom. It was unable to explain the scattering experiment of Rutherford.....hope it hlps✌
