(1).The question is asked from the story THE BEGGAR which is written by the story writer Anton Chekhov. In the story, Lushkoff was a beggar and was begging from Sergei. But he refused to give him alms instead gave him a job.

(2). The job was to chop the woods. Lushkoff was too weak to do the work. So he asked the maidservant Olga to help him. When Sergei met him for the last time, he was not a begger anymore, but a respectful man.

(3). Sergei felt proud on his decision of giving job to Lushkoff. It was because of Olga's help that he became a respectful man.
