the silk moth lays about 300-400eggs at a time. the eggs hatch and the caterpillars or silk worms emerge. this is called the larval stage. the silk work feeds on the mulberry leaves. with the help of the filaments the silkworms deposits a layer around it's body forming a structure called cocoons which takes 3to7days. when the cocoons opens up it turns into a adult moth which again lays eggs and the cycle continues
