They lived in mandaps, made of ringal a hill bamboo and grass from the bugyal. A मंडप was also a work place. Here they made ghee which they took down for sale. In recent years they have been transporting milk directly in buses and trucks.
Mandaps are about 10K to 11K feet high, as buffaloes can't climb any higher.
