Land became infertile, no other crop could not be grown due to plantation of indigo. peasants wanted to cultivateproductive crops, not indigo.

➡➡the Raikas of Rajasthan needed to combine the cultivation and pastoralism because the land became very infertile because of the cultivation of Indigo crop ( the Britishers signed a contract with the farmers in Bengal that they would sow only and only Indigo crop and will not sow any other crop )
