The demands were that women enjoy the same political rights as men. They demanded the right to vote, and hold political office. Only then, they thought, would their interests be given in the new government.

Women were also divided into estates. While the clergy and nobility could be who they are, the 3rd and 4th estate had to work for a living. Some were domestic servants, some worked as tailors, and sold flowers, fruits and vegetables to earn money.
