Velu had run away from his house. He is at the central railway station where he finds a girl named Jaya, a ragpicker . As they are passing the central jail, Jaya advised velu not to go there, as they don’t need any reason to go into there and count the bars. They were looking for food as velu was hungry. They went into a mahal in which they found two bananas and a vada which they ate. Both of them walked for half an hour and reached a range of strangest huts. Jaya dumped her sack full of rubbish and picked a empty one. Then threw a pair of shoes and a sack to velu telling him to pick rubbish
