1. Both Bakarwals Gujjar and Gaddi shepherd is a herder o goats and sheep.

2. Both have the same cycle of seasonal movement. In winter the Gujjars and Gaddis lived with their cattle in the low hills of the range Shiwalik graze their cattle in the forest undergrowth.

3. In April, Gaddis move north and spend the summer in Lahul and Spiti valley while the Gujjars marched north to their summer grazing. They cross the Pir Panjal parse and entered the Kashmir valley.

4. In September, they moved again back to the basics of winter. On the way back, the Gaddi Shepherds stopped again at the village Lahul and Spiti, reaping the harvest of their summer and winter crops sowing them.

Both Gujjar Bakarwala and Gaddi are:

(i) Herders of goat and sheep.

(ii) Both have similar cycle of seasonal movements. In winters they lived with their herds in the low hills of Shivalik range grazing their flocks on scrub forests.

(iii) Both with the onset of summer in April moved northwards. The Gaddis spent summer in Lahul and Spiti valleys while Gujjars crossed the Pir Panjal passes and entered the Kashmir valley.

(iv) By September, again both move again to their winter base.
