Tawarikh are the 'histories' which are valuable and important sources of information written in Persian, which was the language of administration under the Delhi Sultans.

The various limitations of the study tawarikh are​:

• The authors of tawarikh are unable to provide such information because the authors of tawarikh lived in cities mainly Delhi so they were not in touch with the village people.
• They mostly wrote their histories for Sultans in the hope that they got rich rewards.
• They are not interested in common mass and had nothing to do with it.
• Therefore, it implies that the information provided by the study of Tawarikh would lack the history of ordinary men and women.
