Describe the lines of longitude and state their relations with distance and time?

longitude =the lines coming from north to south are called the longitudes .with the help of longitudes we can calculate the distance among two places and also calculate the time of any place .82°30'N which is in mirzapur ,uttar pradesh is taken as the indian standard time for the whole country .and latitudes are the lines coming from west to east .with this we can understand the duration of day and night of any place .
