The Peninsular Plateau is triangular in shape and bounded on all sides by hill ranges. The northern portion of the plateau is bounded by the Aravallis, the Vindhayas, the Satpuras and the Rajmahal hills. The western portion is bounded by the Western Ghats that stretch along the western border of the country.
