Hey there !

Solution:

In a XY plane, there are 4 quadrants with which each of them having different signs.

The First Quadrant has both positive abscissa and ordinate

The Second Quadrant has a negative abscissa and a positive ordinate

The third Quadrant has both negative abscissa and ordinate

The fourth quadrant has a positive abscissa and a negative ordinate.

According to the question, condition is imposed only on ordinate. It is given that abscissa can be non zero but ordinate is negative.

Ordinate is negative only in the third and fourth quadrant.

Hence the answer is Quadrant III or Quadrant IV

Hope my answer helped !
