Prime Meridian is 0° longitude. In the east of 0°, there are 179 longitudes or meridians and in the west also 179 longitudes are marked. After an Eastern longitude, letter E is added and in the same manner when we mention a Western longitude, letter W is added to show its location in Eastern or Western Hemisphere. 180° longitude is known as International Date Line and neither E nor W is added after it. So there are total 360 longitudes on earth.

According to longitudes, India is in Eastern Hemisphere. It extends between 68°7′ E to 97°25′E.
