Hey there,

The magnetic field due to straight current carrying conductor is based on maxwell's Thumb hand rule which states that if you hold the hand in your around the conductor your thumb shows the directions of the current then the other fingers shows the movement of the magnetic field around the conductor.

If it is shaped as a coil then a current carrying conductor will behave as a magnet. You can find the magnetic field of the conductor by the Fleming's left hand rule.

when the current flows through the conducting wire it behaves like a magnet
when a pin is placed in a matchbox and it will be coiled by the current carrying site the pin starts to move it proved that the current carrying conductor behaves like a magnet .
