the main events leading to the salt march and civil disobedience movement were
1-the eleven demands, 1930: in the letter which was sent to the Viceroy Irwin stating the eleven demands by gandhiji, he mentioned different demands and the most stirring of all the demands was the demand to abolish the salt tax and it was stated in the letter that if the demands were not fulfilled by 11 march, the Congress would launch a civil disobedience campaign.
