Explanation:

Planetary wind refers to those wind that blows from one latitude to another and which are controlled by the factors such as changes in the temperature and pressure, Coriolis effect. This type of wind are commonly known as as the Global wind and they blow from a region of high pressure to a region of low pressure throughout the year.

The main features of planetary winds are as follows-

• Polar winds- These are cold dry wind that blows from a high to a low pressure region and found at or near both the poles.

• Westerlies - These wind blows from western to the eastern direction and commonly found between 30° and 60° N and S latitudes. This wind is responsible for transporting the warm water towards the west coastal areas of the other continents.

• Trade Winds- These winds blows from the northestern and the southwestern direction towards the equator in both the hemisphere and are found in the tropical and equatorial regions of earth.
