Tectonic : Deep ocean trenches, volcanoes, island arcs, submarine mountain ranges, and fault lines are examples of features that can form along plate tectonic boundaries. Volcanoes are one kind of feature that forms along convergent plate boundaries, where two tectonic plates collide and one moves beneath the other.

Intermontane : characteristics of intermontane plateaus are, ... ex;Tibetian plateau. -uplifted plateau are caused by the endogenic forces resulting in dome shaped plateaus.ex;chhotanagpur plateau. -plateaus occur on every continent and make up one third of the earth's surface.

Volcanic : Magma rises through cracks or weaknesses in the Earth's crust . When this pressure is released, eg as a result of plate movement, magma explodes to the surface causing a volcanic eruption. The lava from the eruption cools to form new crust. Over time, after several eruptions, the rock builds up and a volcano forms.

Residual plateaus : A plateau is a flat, elevated landform that rises sharply above the surrounding area on at least one side. Plateaus occur on every continent and take up a third of the Earths land. They are one of the four major landforms, along with mountains, plains, and hills.21-
