The powers and functions of High Courts are--
1) High Court is mainly a court of appeal both in civil and criminal cases brought before it against the decision of the lower courts.
2) The original jurisdiction of High Court cases involves violation of fundamental rights.
3) The cases pertaining to marriage,divorce, laws, wills of the deceased persons,etc., are also taken up by the High Court.
4) The high court also has the power of Judicial Review.
