There are two major factors which are responsible for the deterioration of the quality of water that is natural and anthropogenic.

Explanation:

1. Natural factors: The acid rain, volcanic eruption, landslide and animal activities like predator prey relationships likely to contaminate the quality of water.

2. The anthropogenic factors: These are human oriented factors like sewage discharge, industrial discharge,cleaning clothes at the bank of river, using river side for excretion, and water transport are all contributors of pollutants in water.

1. Adding toxic chemicals to water bodies, such as adding chemical wastes that contain harmful things such as pesticides, insecticides, is lethal for marine life.

2. For example, removing beneficial substances from water bodies depleting dissolved oxygen and nutrients this has adverse effects on aquatic life.

3. Shift of water temperature of bodies of water. To survive in those temperature levels the marine animals are adopted. A sudden change in temperature may affect aquatic animal breeding, their eggs and larvae etc. For starters, pouring cold water from dams adversely affects the aquatic life.
