The major forms of power sharing in modern democracy are:-

1. Horizontal distribution of power:-

power shared among different organ of government such as legislative, Judiciary and executive. this arrangement is called horizontal distribution of power because it allows different organ of government placed at the same level 2 exercise different powers.

for example, the judges are appointed by executive but they can check the functioning of Executive all laws made by the Legislature.


2. Federal Government and vertical division of power:-

power can be shared among the government at different level a General government for the entire country and government and the provincial or regional government. such a general government for the entire country is usually called Federal government in India we refer to it as the central union government.

for example, the country like India, where there are different level of government the constitution clearly lays down the power of different level of Government and that that is called vertical division of power.


3. community government:-

power may also be shared among the different social groups such as religious and linguistic group. community government in Belgium is a good example of this arrangement.


4. coalition government:-

power sharing arrangement for Mercedes India political parties pressure groups and movement control of influence those in power.


5. different interests groups :-

in a democracy we find the interesting profile like traders, businessman, and industrial workers. they also have a shared in government of power through participation in government committees are the drinking influence on the decision making process.
