Answer:

The major vegetation zones of the himalayan region:

The vegetation of the Himalayas varies depending on both altitude and climatic conditions. They range from tropical deciduous forests in the foothills to temperate forests in the middle elevations. Coniferous, alpine and alpine forests rise higher. Eventually, they give way to alluvial grasslands and high mountain meadows. These are followed by thickets leading up to the permanent snow line.

The vegetation also varies from the unexplored tropical rainforests of the Eastern Himalayas, the dense subtropical and alpine forests of the Central and Western Himalayas to the sparse desert vegetation of the cold desert areas of the Back Himalayas.

But man has also affected the flora of the Himalayas. For centuries, man has always depended on his forests for many of his needs. But in the past, these needs were few, the forests were able to replenish resources, and a delicate natural balance was preserved. But over the years, the number of people exploded, and with it the number of forest-dependent industries. Extraordinary demands were placed on the forests. Forests were cut down for firewood and to feed growing forest industries. They were also cleared to accommodate the growing population. As a result, many tree species that were very common 50 years ago are now rare or have completely disappeared from certain areas.
