The Constituent Assembly functioned in an open, consensual and systematic manner. The members of the Assembly laid great emphasis on discussions and reasoned argument. The way the deliberations took place in the constituent Assembly it undoubtedly gave sanctity to our Constitution.
a. There was a general consensus on some basic principles to be adopted. It ensured that decisions were taken democratically.
b. The drafting committee headed by B.R Ambedkar prepared a draft constitution. This draft was discussed, debated and deliberated.
c. Each clause of this draft constitution was scrutinized, discussed in detail with reason.
d. Every document presented ,every word spoken was recorded and preserved.These debates which spread over three years provided a rationale behind every provisions of the constitution.
