The materials needed during photosynthesis, come from

  • Photosynthesis occurs in autotrophic organisms as they prepare their food. Photo means light and synthesis means the union of substances.
  • The materials required during photosynthesis are sunlight, carbon dioxide and water. Because of these three substances, glucose and oxygen are formed.
  • The chlorophyll present in the green leaves absorbs the sunlight. Carbon dioxide enters the plant through the stomata present in leaves.
