When a person gets hurt his plasma release an enzyme known as thromboplastin (also called thrombokinase, Stuart factor or factor-x) .

This thromboplastin along with calcium ion helps inactive thrombin to convert into prothrombin.

And this prothtombin helps active fibrinogen to convert into inactive fibrin and this sticky substance fibrin gets collected on the place of wound.
