Monsoon winds in India are of 2 types the summer monsoon and the retreating monsoon during summer monsoon regions like (Kerala karanataka Gujarat) The western part of India receives heavy rainfall because the winds from Arabian see are stopped by the western Ghats while in Northern part the Assam region receives heavy rainfall while the inner part of India receives less rainfall
During retreating monsoon the south eastern part of India like Tamil nadu receives rainfall but the rainfall received is less because the winds that bring rain to T.N originates from the lands

chandrashekharareddy: still brief plz
HariRK: the summer monsoon winds originates from the sea since high pressure is in the sea during retreating monsoon the high pressure is found in land of india so the wind blows from land to indian ocean so when the winds cross bay of bengal the wind absorbs moisture and sheds them in Tamil nadu because of eastern ghats
HariRK: the north western part of india like punjab receives rainfall from western disturbance
