OSMOSIS;

Osmosis is the diffusion of water through a semi permeable substance

Therefore the solution moves from the lower concentration level to the higher concentration level.

In fact during osmosis, the solute particles do not move. Movement in the solution occurs due to the inetioc energy imparted to the liquid molecules.

✔For example, if the medium surrounding the cell has a higher water concentration than the cell that is if the solution is a dilute solution, then the cell will gain water by osmosis.
