Captain met Leggatt in a mysterious scene. Leggatt is met by the Captain floating alongside his ship and when Leggatt tries to explain why he had swam to Captains ship, Captain tends to relate the scenario of Leggatt to be his and he quotes, ''I saw it all...as though I were myself inside that other sleeping suit."
The captain then fears that Leggatt could be found by his chief mate and he therefore hides Leggatt in his L shaped quarters despite Leggatt being a stranger and he as well avoids suspecting Leggatt to being a Pirate.
