Bhaswati Talukdar answered this

The poet lodges with Ernest one evening. Ernest, unaware of his identity, welcomes him and the two start to talk. It is only a little later that the poet tells Ernest that he is an author. Ernest fails to recognise the similarity between the Great Stone Face and the poet. He turns sad that he had expected that the poet would fulfil the prophesy. The poet tells Ernest that his life has been a humble one and not exemplary like his poems claims it to

Mkambozz1322: Ernest and the poet together went to a meeting place. Ernest addressed the gathering. His words had power and his thoughts had depth. They were the words of life, a life of good deeds and selfless love. The poet was convinced that Ernest – was much nobler than him. Ernest’s face had such a grand expression that he declared that Ernest bore the likeness of the Great Stone Face.

Answer:

Hope this is helpful

Explanation:

When Ernest first saw the poet, he looked kind, gentle and wise. He was upset when he found out that the poet had no resemblance to the Great Stone Face. While talking to the poet , even the Great Stone Face seemed to be bending toward to listen to his talks.

The poet told Ernest that he could hear the distant voice of a heavenly song in his poems. He told Ernest that his thoughts hadn't corresponded with his life. He had grand dreams, but they were only dreams. Sometimes, he even lacked faith in his own thoughts.
