One night when the frog was croaking,he heard a melodious voice. That was actually the voice of Nightingale who was singing on a branch of Sumac tree. After she sang, the frog acted as a critic to her and said her that he owned the Sumac tree.

So this is how they met.

Later, the whole Bingle Bog became fan of the Nightingale.

The meaning?

A frog is a small coldblooded amphibian which is green in colour.

A nightingale is a songbird known for its beautiful voice

In the poem the frog and the nightingale, the frog loves to sing even with his bad voice. All the animals in the forest want him to stop singing and throw sticks and stones and pray for him to stop. But he loves singing too much to stop. One day a nightingale comes there and starts singing beautifully. The frog introduces himself as the owner of that tree and says that he's a great singer known for his splendid baritone. He offers to tutor the nightingale and be her mentor. The nightingale, in the hopes of becoming a great singer, happily takes up the offer. Then the frog starts torturing the nightingale everyday by forcing her to practise for long times. He makes money by selling tickets to the nightingale's shows. A lot of famous people come to listen to rhe nightingale's songs. But eventually the nightingale becomes tired and isn't able to handle the pressure anymore. She no longer enjoys singing and her songs lack passion. In the fear of losing his business, the frog makes the nightingale practise even harder and the nightingale's throat bursts and she dies.

Finally the frog puts the blame on the nightingale and says that she herself is responsible for her fate.
