The narrator was travelling in a chair car and he Mr. Pescud accidentaly. Pescud threw a book on the floor and it came across narrator. The book was one of the best sellers of the time and the narrator too liked the book. Then both of them came across one another. When the both met, they talked about rain, prosperity, health, residence and destination. This was how they met for the first time in a chair car.
