Describe the method of preparation of H2S in Kipp’s apparatus.

Answer:

hydrogen sulphide is prepared by the action of dilute sulphuric acid on iron sulphide in a Kipp's apparatus FeS + HlS04 +FeS04 + H2S into the lower reservoir and up the central tube to the upper reservoir. Iron sulphide in the central bulb dries up and no more gas is produced.
