The percentage of methane in biogas is generally determined by the Orsat apparatus, gas- chromatograph etc. (Holman, 1995). Savery and Cruzon (1972) suggested that, the three agents KOH, NaOH and Ca(OH)2 can be used in chemical scrubbing of biogas. The absorption of CO2 in alkaline solution is assisted by agitation.
